Michael Kinsley, former editorial page editor of the LAT and regular contributor to Time magazine, will be in conversation with yours truly on Tuesday morning, Dec. 9, at Café Pinot (700 West Fifth Street, next to the Los Angeles Public Library). This is part of the LAPL's Aloud Business Forum series. Kinsley has edited a provocative new book called, "Creative Capitalism: A Conversation with Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, and Other Economic Leaders." With 40 contributors, including Buffett, Lawrence Summers and Gary Becker, Kinsley raises a question we'll be hearing a lot about in the months to come: Can corporations integrate doing good into the way they conduct business? The book grew out of an online dialogue that was in response Gates’s call for a “creative capitalism.”

Anyway, I still have a few free tickets for LABO and LAO readers. Just shoot me an email. After I run out, it's $20 at the door. The session starts with breakfast and networking at 8:00 a.m. and the forum is at 8:30 a.m.
