The average gallon of regular in the L.A. area is $2.07, up three-and-half cents from last week, according to the government's latest survey. Lots of cross-currents to contend with in trying to figure out where prices are headed: While demand remains quite soft, which would presumably bring down prices, refiners are cutting back on production of specially made California gasoline.
