Snipes' passport gets yanked

He had been out on bail while appealing a three-year sentence for tax evasion. But his overseas travel was restricted to London and Bangkok, where the actor had film commitments. So what on earth was Wesley Trent Snipes doing at the grand opening of a huge hotel in Dubai? A federal judge in Florida was none too pleased, and the actor returned to the States and was ordered to surrender his passport. From Forbes, which has been closely following the case:

This is not the first time Snipes' has run afoul of the rules governing his life as a criminal defendant. An earlier Pretrial Services Office report on file with the court says Snipes "has failed to file monthly report forms in a timely manner and at times has forgotten to submit the report forms" and had been "admonished." But the agency said Snipes always made his scheduled court appearances and concluded he "was not a danger to the community."
