With Santa Monica Boulevard closed off this morning, there was really no point trying to get anywhere, so I pulled over and waited for the motorcade to go by. Kind of cool catching him in one of the two monster-sized presidential limousines that made their way west (he was to appear at an electric vehicle facility in Pomona this morning). It's also a reminder of the wild logistics involved when moving a president from one part of town to another. After several other appearances, including a guest spot on the "Tonight" show, Obama flies back to Washington, via Long Beach, at around 6 tonight.
