The Economic Development Corp.'s Nancy Sidhu is nice enough to sift through the latest Fortune 500 for all the locally based companies. This year's list has 51 companies that are based in California, 22 that are based in Southern California, and 14 that are in L.A. County. As usual, the top of the list is pretty thin - only three companies (Disney, Northrop and Occidental Petroleum) made the top 100. The next highest, at 126, is DirecTV in El Segundo. Here's the L.A. County contingent:

- Walt Disney (60)
- Northrop Grumman Corp. (69)
- Occidental Petroleum (98)
- DirecTV Group (126)
- HealthNet (165)
- Edison International (184)
- Jacobs Engineering Group (241)
- Reliance Steel & Aluminum (298)
- Dole Foods (329)
- Avery Dennison (376)
- Mattel (415)
- DaVita (433)
- AECOM Technology (458)
- CB Richard Ellis Group (464)
