The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals denied a request by MGA Entertainment to halt the transfer of the popular doll to rival Mattel. MGA wanted the appellate court to nullify a wide-ranging injunction by U.S. District Judge Stephen Larson that orders it to stop selling its top-selling brand at the end of the year. Meanwhile, Mattel CEO Robert Eckert told the Reuters Global Retail Summit that the company intends to rebuild the Bratz brand, but said he could not give specific details.
