L.A.'s creative economy

There's Hollywood, of course, but there's also digital media, fashion, interior design, architecture, and communication arts. Those creative businesses make up an important and little-noticed portion of the local economy - and its role will become even more pronounced with the continued downsizing in other sectors. The Otis College of Art and Design commissioned the L.A. Economic Development Corp. to lay out the growth potential. Digital media is expected to fare the best over the next few years. Areas like fashion, furniture and toy design won't do as well because of the decline in manufacturing. Here's the full report.
