It'll happen on Thursday, Christmas Eve, at 5 a.m. our time, 8 a.m in Washington. Earlier, the vote had been set for 4 p.m. (7 p.m. back east), but that would have been a drag for lawmakers and staff trying to get out of town for Christmas. All of which tells you that the deed is pretty much done. (LAT)
