Moving on out

move.png But not in the numbers you might expect. The OC Register's Jon Lansner has compiled annual tallies from several major van lines and found that 51.2 percent of the California moves last year were outbound. Considering all the state has been going through, that percentage is not horrible - and it's virtually unchanged for 3 years. Michigan's outmigration was 68 percent, according to United Van Lines. The overall number of moves to and from California fell 21 percent in 2009, no doubt reflecting the fact that in tough economic times folks tend to stay put. As for destinations, Texas was in the top spot.
