"We no longer see a role for Tiger in our marketing efforts and have ended our relationship," a spokeswoman for Gatorade said in a statement.

Ended our relationship? Ouch - that's about as cold as corporations will get in public statements. Actually, the Tiger de-coupling has unfolded pretty much as expected. Companies that are connected to Woods because of his prowess on the golf course continue to offer support. Most notably, that includes Nike. Other sponsors, especially the ones that had connected him to integrity and high performance, are either gone or leaning in that direction.
