Whitman was in shoving incident

Happened three years ago when she was still CEO of eBay (and not exactly the most loved boss, from what I hear). An employee claims that Whitman became angry about something and forcefully pushed her in an executive conference room, the NYT reports. The employee hired a lawyer and threatened a lawsuit, but the dispute was resolved through a private mediator - and for a settlement in the $200,000 range, according to the Times.

An agreement to keep the matter confidential was also part of the settlement, and the authorities were not involved. Ms. Whitman was counseled in the matter, the former eBay employees said, by the company's human resources lawyers and by Henry Gomez, then president of the Skype unit at eBay and now a senior adviser to Ms. Whitman's campaign.

The employee, Young Mi Kim, still works at eBay and is now a senior manager for corporate and executive communications. Kim said she and Whitman have overcome their differences. Big deal or little deal? If you're running for governor of the nation's biggest state, big. Speaks to a person's judgment under stressful circumstances.
