*Newsweek deal getting close

Sidney Harman has reached a tentative agreement to buy the financially struggling newsweekly from the Washington Post Co. Harman, who is 91 and the husband of South Bay Rep. Jane Harman, has committed to retaining a majority of Newsweek's more than 300 employees, the WSJ is reporting. Little to no cash will change hands. Now it's down to the detail work.
