New numbers from CNN-Time-Opinion Research: In the governor's race, it's Jerry Brown over Meg Whitman 52-43 percent among likely voters (earlier this month Brown was losing by two points). In the Senate race, Barbara Boxer also leads Carly Fiorina by a 52-43 margin. Moderates are helping both Democratic candidates, according to the results. The poll was conducted Sept. 24-28, but I don't know whether respondents were called after last night's Brown-Whitman debate. Frankly, it would be surprising if many minds were changed.
