Still too close to call, but a CNN/Time/Opinion Research poll has Barbara Boxer holding a 48 percent to 44 percent margin over Carly Fiorina. Boxer has a 5-point edge in the women's vote, and as you might guess, Boxer cleans up in the urban areas while Fiorina has a big advantage in rural locales. As for governor, Meg Whitman leads Jerry Brown by two points, 48-46 percent. Brown polls better in the north than the south. Whitman holds a five point margin among independents.
