California housing still appreciates

Prices increased 2 percent from August 2009 to August 2010, making California the sixth-highest state for house appreciation, according to CoreLogic (via the OC Register). But that's down from having the top spot in May. The top 5:

1. Maine: Up 5.8%
2. New York: Up 3.7%
3. Connecticut: Up 2.5%
4. Virginia: Up 2.4%
5. South Dakota: Up 2.1%
