Latest from the L.A. auto show

mercedes.jpgAutomakers have been making a whole bunch of announcements during the media portion of this week's show. Among them, via NYT:

--Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet: An all-wheel-drive crossover convertible. Priced at $46,390, will arrive in dealerships early next year.

--Kia Optima Hybrid: Kia's first gas-electric hybrid. Arriving in showrooms sometime next year, no price announced.

--Toyota RAV4-EV: Toyota supplied the vehicle and Tesla built the battery. Expected to reach showrooms in 2012; no price announced.

--Honda Fit EV: Powered by hydrogen fuel and lithium-ion battery pack. Should be good for 70 to 100 miles a charge. Available in 2012; no price.

--Mercedes-Benz F-Cell Hydrogen Fuel-Cell Car: The first Mercedes compact in the U.S. Will be available for a 24-month lease, at $849 per month, which includes service and a PIN for fuel.
