The median asking price among the 62 transactions monitored by BizBuySell last year was $107,000, and the median sale price was $79,500. Some other types of businesses that were followed by the business online exchange:

RETAIL
# of transactions -- 97
Median asking price -- $202,950
Median selling price -- $156,000
Median revenue -- $360,000

SERVICE
# of transactions -- 103
Median asking price -- $150,000
Median selling price -- $110,000
Median revenue -- $199,000

MANUFACTURING
# of transactions -- 21
Median asking price -- $300,000
Median selling price -- $280,000
Median revenue -- $600,000

This is not the complete list of transactions in L.A., but it does provide a snapshot of small business activity.
