Not a big surprise - strike authorization votes are almost always approved by overwhelming numbers. Whether a strike actually gets called is another story. The Grocery Workers Union Local 770 most likely wanted to flex its muscle in response to contract talks that are moving along slowly (the union said in statement that it's "tired of management's stalling and playing games that put grocery workers and consumers at risk"). These authorization votes can provide a little more urgency on the proceedings. The contract, which expired March 6, has been extended on a day-to-day basis.
