Website errs in buyer of Elizabeth Taylor estate

Turns out that it's Rocky Malhotra, not Mark Barron, as we posted on Monday (citing Real Estalker). Malhotra is chairman of SuperMax World, a major manufacturer of razor blades, shaving products and home manicure sets. Real Estalker says that Malhotra leases Bowen's house in Bel Air, which apparently was how things got messed up. (Mistakes in the reporting of high-visibility real estate deals come about because buyers and sellers often try to mask the relevant information through shell investment firms and other guises.)

Your Mama first thought-and reported-that Mister Barron had recently and inexplicably snatched up several high-priced properties in Bel Air. However, according to Miss Cleo, it's Mister Malhotra who quickly stuffed his property portfolio with a trio of pricey pads in Bel Air. In addition to Miz Taylor's storied mansion on Nimes Road, Mister Malhotra coughed up $8,000,000 in May 2011 for an 8,248 square foot pseudo-Gothic kinda-Tudor style pile on a gated 1.1 acre parcel on Bel Air's busy North Beverly Glen Boulevard.

The 7,000-square-foot Taylor estate in Bel Air had been on the market just 33 days. Still no word on purchase price; the place had been listed for $8.6 million.
