Good luck trying to figure out why. The session was very erratic for 30 minutes or so after the Federal Reserve's statement on the economy, and then took took off in the last few minutes of trading. At the close, the Dow was up almost 4 percent, to 11,239, and the Nasdaq was up more than 5 percent, to 2482.
