AEG stadium bill clears Senate, onto governor

Vote wasn't even close - 32-7. The bill provides the developer with an expedited means of resolving legal disputes - specifically a 175-day window for an appeals court to review any environmental challenges. The Senate also approved companion legislation that creates a similar fast track for projects worth at least $100 million. From Capitol Alert:

Proponents said the bill would leave intact the California Environmental Quality Act but accelerate the timetable for review and skip trial court proceedings. Some environmentalists still oppose SB 292 for altering CEQA on behalf of a company that pushed through the plan in the Legislature's final week. Other opponents were concerned about granting an exemption for one project, though that may have been defused by AB 900.

Most likely, Gov. Brown, will sign the bills into law, and AEG will be officially declared more important than any other business in L.A.
