Police arrest protesters in orderly demonstration

Orchestrated is more like it, at least judging from the video I've seen and the tweets I've been reading. After marching from the Bank of America building to the intersection of 4th and Figueroa, a small group of pre-selected protesters set up tents in the middle of the street and linked arms. An order to disperse was ignored and then the cops began making arrests. About a dozen 23 or so, it appears. Among the groups participating: the Service Employees International Union, the American Federation of Teachers, the group MoveOn.org, and Occupy L.A. All in all, the event seems quite restrained compared with the pushing and shoving in NY. (LAT)
