Here's what greeted Cove residents headed out early this morning -- an enormous eucalyptus whose roots gave way in the night.

It's blocking the road now as crews saw it to bits and haul it away, and the people in the houses next door breathe sighs of relief that it fell this way and not the other.tree falls
