Rep. Christopher Cox says that the Secret Service used "profoundly bad judgment" this week in trying to question L.A. Times cartoonist Michael Ramirez -- and owes him an apology. Cox is a Republican from Orange County. The story is on Yahoo News, from a link on Romenesko.
Ramirez actually has pretty good judgment when it comes to creating cartoons that are not just irritating to people (like myself) who are left of center, but also weirdly illogical and incoherent. In fact, his mangling of logic seems to attract as much attention as the ostensible "point" of any given cartoon -- a talent that sets him apart from those boringly lucid editorial artists one encounters elsewhere.

Michael Ramirez showed incredibly bad judgment by equating criticism with assassination and owes all of us who care about democracy an apology.
