Arnold: Times is fair

Schwarzenegger called John Carroll, editor of the L.A. Times, to tell him that the LAT's coverage had been very fair and balanced, political reporter Mark Z. Barabak said yesterday on CNN's "Reliable Sources." The call came the day after the Times reported on the Nazi past of Schwarzenegger's father (on page 16) and his naming of Warren Buffet to a campaign advisory post (page 1).

He lavished praise on how fair the "L.A. Times" had been. And I talked to John Carrol (ph), the editor, on Friday, and they've had no other discussion since then. So I'm not exactly sure where Mr. Schwarzenegger got the idea that we're being fed stuff by the Davis campaign, which, by the way, has been very, very critical of our coverage.

Jill Stewart and Debra Saunders were also on the panel. (Via Romenesko)
