Training to be mayor?

Just back from a junket to Israel with assorted city officials, city council president Alex Padilla is scheduled to jet off again -- to Sweden on Dec. 8 to learn about "electronics and government" with councilman Eric Garcetti, says Rick Orlov in the Daily News. He notes the trip comes during a council recess, but while other council members will be in meetings on local issues with the California League of Cities. The Sweden trip is sponsored by Cisco Systems.
