More ink for Chick

In an interview with city controller Laura Chick in this week's CityBeat, Chip Jacobs credits her audits of city commissions with exposing the seamier side of local politics.

She peeled back the veil of power around mayor-appointed commissioners who not only shoulder policy decisions, but are also expected to raise the funds that oil L.A.’s political apparatus.

It’s the way business gets done in this town.

That's apparently what county and federal grand juries are looking into right now.
