Ex-city councilman Rudy Svorinich Jr., now a City Hall lobbyist, is raising eyebrows for distributing a newsletter that boasts of his prowess at getting his clients to donate cash to Mayor Jim Hahn's and other local officials' political campaigns. Lobbyists usually like to keep quiet about that particular talent, and the Breeze reports that other lobbyists are bothered by the newsletter's frankness. "It feeds into the public's dislike for the lobbying industry," Steve Afriat says in the story. "It implies that fund raising is why we're effective." Ethics Commission member Bill Boyarsky says he'll use the newsletter to push for a ban on campaign fundraising by lobbyists. Asked to comment, Svorinich told Breeze reporter David Zahniser:
"We don't have anything to talk about, ever."

Amazing. I called the office of Svorinich & Associates ((310) 547-9404) and asked them if Rudy had reconsidered this quote to a Breeze reporter in the time since.
"Can I have your name please?"
"Joseph Mailander. Can I have yours?"
"Are you a writer?"
"Yes. Can I have your name? What does your organization do?"
"You're going to have to talk to Rudy directly."
"Do you have a media relations person? Can I have your name? You asked for mine..."
"I'm going to hang up on you sir...."
"You can do that if you choose, but I don't think..."
