Sportswriter murder

Today's Times has the paper's first staff story on the death here of sportswriter Sam Kellerman and the charging of a professional boxer known as the Harlem Hammer. James Butler, 31, pleaded not guilty Friday to killing Kellerman with a hammer then setting fire to his Hollywood apartment. Kellerman, 29, was a freelance sportswriter and frequent contributor to FOXSports.com. His brother Max is the host of the "I, Max" show on Fox Sports Net. The New York tabloids and the wires have been covering the case since early last week. Today's Post reports on yesterday's memorial service in New York.
