Debate Day

NBC4 logoThe candidates for mayor come together tonight at the Musuem of Tolerance (and on KNBC and KWHY at 7 p.m.) and hope that somebody—anybody—cares at this early point in the contest. Not only is the election not until March 8, the list of candidates won't be final for another week. Still, the debate is on—sponsored by KNBC using guidelines suggested by the League of Women Voters. Advancer in the Times.

Also in campaign news today:

• Initiatives by Hahn and Villaraigosa (sales tax hike for cops) and Hertzberg (break up LAUSD) get some press in the Times, Daily News (here and here) and Daily Breeze (here and here.

• Yesterday's City Hall hearing on the Fleishman-Hillard contract with the DWP made news in the Times, Daily News and Daily Breeze.

• Hertzberg has placed a new round of ads on blogs, including at L.A. Observed. A reminder, as stated in the sponsorship guidelines, that the blog accepts ads from any political candidates. Ads that run here are not endorsements.
