Montorio clarification

MontorioI was wrong earlier today (Eastward ho) when I mentioned that the Times' associate editor, John Montorio, had stayed mum about his future with the post-Baquet paper. Actually, he had sent his staff an email last week vowing to stick around. I just received it via a newsroom source. It's after the jump.

Everyone--

Dean's departure has left us all with complicated emotions. Many of us feel that we've lost not only a brilliant editor, but also a close friend and, perhaps most important, an untiring cheerleader for journalistic excellence and integrity. I plan to go on pursuing those things on behalf of our readers, and I know we can rely on all of you to do the same.

John
