Democrats smell a party

The list of co-chairs for Republican Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's inaugural includes leading California Democrats Pelosi, Feinstein, Boxer, Villaraigosa and Núñez — and even a few Republicans such as Pete Wilson and George Deukmejian. Another ex-governor, Gray Davis, gets his name on the list too.

Also: Bunch of personnel moves in the governor's office. Dan Weintraub and Bill Bradley comment.

While my head's in Sacto: Shane Goldmacher, late of Capitol Weekly and blogger at The California Observer, is moving into the Sacramento Bee's Capitol bureau. "The paper is launching a very exciting Web site early next year that I will be heavily involved with," he writes.
