BoratFeuerPolitical Muscle, the Times' Sacramento politics blog, sees a certain resemblance between Borat Sagdiyev and newly elected state Assembly member (and ex-L.A. City Council member) Mike Feuer. Can you tell which is which? Bob Salladay's blog post also gives a guide to some of the new Sacramento electeds and their relationships, including Kevin de Leon (grew up with Speaker Fabian Núñez) and Mike Eng (married to his predecessor, Assemblywoman Judy Chu.)

Also: Salladay hears that Alex Padilla is already in trouble with Senate pro tem Don Perata, who threatens retribution if the new Senator from the San Fernando Valley comes after his job. Remember, Padilla wasn't on the City Council more than a few breaths before running for president of the body. Nice factoid: Padilla joined the Council as its youngest member and leaves the same way, despite also being its longest-serving incumbent.

* They were there first: Kerry Cavanaugh at the Daily News' politics blog, The Sausage Factory, made the Borat-Feuer connection in photos back on Nov. 7. Not so much sausage being made these days: the last post was Nov. 27.
