AP legal writer jumps to Jerry Brown

David Kravets, the AP reporter in San Francisco covering the state high court and the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, becomes director of communications for the California Department of Justice, effective immediately. Nathan Barankin moves to deputy attorney general in the Government Law Section based in Sacramento.
