Looking ahead to the weekend

Image coverThe LAT's Image section returns this weekend for its second stroll down the runway of public opinion. I'm told that Sunday's edition has a piece setting up the rivalry between the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising downtown and Otis, which reigned over the old art school district around MacArthur Park for decades before fleeing to Westchester. There's also a pictorial on poolside fashion and some kind of examination of the 424 area code. Image runs monthly until September then is slated to go weekly.

Noted: This is also the first weekend for the Times' combined Book Review/Opinion section, smushed into a tabloid-size package. Haven't seen it yet.
