Measure R upheld

Lots of L.A. city council members are happy about this — a judge rejected a challenge to the ballot measure that extends their term limits. Voters in Los Angeles passed it last November with 59% of the vote. Superior Court Judge David Yaffe turned aside arguments that Measure R violated the state constitution, since the city measure was not a state initiative.
