Election overlap

Just when you were hoping the campaign ads would stop already on TV, the Los Angeles City Clerk puts out word that filing opens Monday for candidates in the city election on March 3. Filing closes a week from Saturday.

To appear on the March ballot, candidates for the offices of Mayor, City Attorney, City Controller, Los Angeles City Council Districts 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13 and 15; Member of the Board of Education for the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) 2, 4 and 6; and Member of the Board of Trustees for the Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) Seats 2, 4, 6 and 7 must file a Declaration of Intention to Become a Candidate. The deadline for filing the Declaration of Intention to Become a Candidate is 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Saturday, November 8, 2008.

That's the deadline Rick Caruso was talking about.
