Tomorrow's Daily Journal will report that the City Council did not approve the proposed settlement of legal claims for victims of the LAPD's misbehavior in MacArthur Park last year. The story by staffer Peter B. Matuszak says the council took up the settlement today in closed session, but "voted to give instructions to their lawyers and...no final settlement agreement was reached." The Times reported earlier in the day that the proposed deal could total $10 million.
