At a Los Angeles Magazine post-election discussion breakfast this morning at The Foundry on Melrose, the main subject was Barack Obama of course, but I did hear considerable grousing from a politics pro that the anti-Prop. 8 campaign misfired in significant ways. Lame commercials until the final ten days or so, and a failure to define the issue as a civil rights cause in black communities, leaving it to the pastors to define the issue as Biblical. African Americans voted 70% to ban gay marriage.
