LAT

So much for those later deadlines *

The L.A. Times recently gave the Calendar section a later copy deadline, made possible by the killing of the California section. But when you axe too many copy editors, stuff happens. On page 2 of today's Calendar, the headlines in the Quick Takes roundup are missing. In their place are holding heds that read "tag briefs subhead" or, in one case, "tag briefs subhead large." LA Observed readers are spotting more and more of these errors in the LAT — more than a half dozen already emailed me this one.

* A Calendar staffer emails: "We only have late deadlines Sunday through Wednesday nights. Thursday was our regular 3 pm deadline, which was delayed almost 40 minutes by the computer system crashing, which caused the Quick Takes problem."
