Al Martinez now in Daily News

almtzdn.jpgThe longtime columnist who was squeezed out of the Los Angeles Times (again) this year now runs in the Daily News. Martinez's debut DN column is about his daughters, one of whom is undergoing chemotherapy. Having his column run in the Daily News is a homecoming of sorts — for many years Martinez's column was based in the Times' old Valley edition.

Noted: Martinez subtitles his blog "Life, love, lust and lunacies from the Sage of Topanga."

Times-related: Reporter Christine Hanley has resigned from the Orange County staff of the LAT.
