Phil Willon, who covers Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa for the L.A. Times, posted at L.A. Now that Channel 5 reporter-weekend anchor Lu Parker told KTLA officials that she and the mayor started dating in March. She did some interviews with Villaraigosa before that. “There is no concern as to the ethics whatsoever,’’ Don Corsini, general manager of KTLA, told the Times. “As far as I’m concerned, it’s a personal matter.’’

* Well actually: Parker read a story about Villaraigosa and the governor's race on Sunday's newscast, Willon says in his later article for the paper. "Now that we're aware of the relationship, she will no longer be covering local politics," said KTLA-TV news director Jason Ball.

luparkermav.jpgAbout Lu Parker: Well, I guess we'll all be watching at 6:30 pm. to see if Parker anchors tonight. [Nope. Emmett Miller goes it alone.] In her station bio, Parker says she came to KTLA in January 2005 from San Antonio, where she hosted "Great Day S.A." and anchored on the Fox affiliate. She began her TV career in South Carolina, where she was Miss S.C. and Miss USA. She has modeled, taught school and acted on TV in "Commander in Chief," "Monk" and "Shark" and is in the movie "Winged Creatures." She's "an avid golfer and loves to shoot a shotgun," and according to her bio is also an animal activist. Parker blogs, Twitters and has a fan page on Facebook — the photo of her interviewing the mayor is on her personal website. If her IMDb birthdate is correct, Parker turns 37 this year.
