Editor: LAT not at NYT level

artleyvideo.jpgLos Angeles Times editor in chief Russ Stanton acknowledges in an interview that "I don't see us as a direct competitor to the New York Times any more. They have twice as many people as we have, and we have a different audience." It's a piece by Jon Friedman at Market Watch that explores, very lightly, how the paper is doing online and in print. (There's a video piece included with online editor Meredith Artley.) Stanton also complains that the "In our DNA, we still act like an army of 1,200. We're right around 600 newsroom employees."
