Sarah Spitz to retire from KCRW

The founding producer of "Left, Right & Center" and first co-producer of "Which Way, LA?" has been with KCRW since 1983, when she began as a volunteer. She plans to retire Dec. 30. From a note to the staff by general manager Jennifer Ferro:

When you look back at the history of KCRW there are a small handful of names that stand out as the foundation. Sarah Spitz is one of them....

She is by far one of the best on-air fundraisers in public radio. Sarah was there at the birth of nearly all of KCRW's first moments and it's hard to imagine a KCRW without her.

Spitz has also been the station's longtime publicity director.
