KTLA news copter test run in 1958 (video)

ktla-copter-grab.jpgKTLA was the first Los Angeles television station to deploy a news helicopter. It made Channel 5 the place for breaking news until the other stations wised up. This clip shows the news copter being earnestly dispatched by the news desk on a simulated story in 1958, flying along the Hollywood Freeway toward downtown. Hat tip to Hans Laetz on Facebook.
