Boy, how embarrassing. Starz President Chris Albrecht received a confidential email concerning the future of Chris McGurk and Danny Rosett, the heads of Overture Films, a unit of Starz. Albrecht tapped out a response to the two executives who had emailed him, suggesting that upon his return from Spain they should discuss removing McGurk and Rosett. But Albrecht mistakenly sent his reply in a company-wide email, one about employees working half a day on July 2. So everyone at Starz found out about Albrecht's plans, including McGurk and Rosett. From the LAT:
Realizing his goof, Albrecht immediately called Bill Myers, president of Starz Entertainment, to inform him of the error. During their conversation, McGurk called Albrecht and told him that he had seen the e-mail. Later that day, McGurk and Rosett tendered their resignations.
