For years the big silk floss tree struggled in the empty lot but this spring, probably due to two decent rain years in a row, it's once again in full, glorious, and extremely pink bloom.

Here's hoping that whichever developer wins the right to build here (and add to our torrent of traffic) has the good sense to incorporate this beautiful survivor into the landscape.
