Does Tribune want Copley?

That's the rampant gossip in San Diego, says a writer for the local CityBeat there. Head guy David Copley is ill and the company's acounting department has been asked to pull together some numbers that suggest a sale is being discussed. The Copley chain owns the Union-Tribune in San Diego and the Daily Breeze here, as well as other papers. (Via Romenesko)
