LATimes.com is offline back *

Six AP wire stories are all that shows, plus this alert: "We are experiencing technical difficulties on latimes.com and calendarlive.com. We are working to fix the problem. Thank you for your patience." (I'm told in email that the entire Tribune chain of websites is down. Something about the servers...)

* 4:10 p.m. update: "database crash...haven't heard an ETA"

5:45 update: It's back up. I just now looked, so if you're scoring at home, I don't know when service was restored.

I was wondering what was going on - it's funny because I just got an email from them advertising their "New Site Features: Los Angeles Times Daily Headlines Email" - it was an HTML email and nothing shows up because it's all images and they all refer back to the LATimes site.

Sometimes my paper doesn't come to me in the morning, too. latimes.com temporarily offline, this really news? Try not to show how locked to the web you are, folks. Occasionally, the internet....*gasp*... it may malfunction!
