Well read, indeed

FrancisThat profile of Joe Francis in West magazine I told you about last week was the talk of the town (to the degree that can happen in L.A.) all weekend. Gawker picked up on "Baby, Give Me a Kiss" this morning for the New York end of the gossip world, noting that Page Six of the New York Post is friendly with Francis and doesn't mention the story or his manhandling of Times reporter Claire Hoffman. Gawker has been receiving some choice comments about the "Girls Gone Wild" mogul and former USC undergrad.

After reading that article, I must admit that Joe Francis is scum...

Someone oughta stick a camera up his ass so we can see HIM go wild....

This guy is such a scumbag, we need a new word for scumbag...

And a particularly biting L.A.-centric subtlety from commenter SpyMagician: "Why doesn't Dov Charney buy this guy out and make 'Girls Gone Wild' hipster friendly?"

Lee Abrams, Tribune Company's chief innovation officer, doesn’t seem too impressed with the Los Angeles Times. That’s the feeling I got when he appeared at the Los Angeles Press Club.
